Title: Maintenance Technician

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To/Title: Site Leader in an empowered team environment. The Maintenance Technician's will get performance feedback by team members and maintenance engineer on frequent basis to ensure high performance team is achieved. The Maintenance Technician and other team members are accountable for team and plant performance.

Overtime: Overtime eligible

Job Level: Job level will depend on the depth and breadth of skills acquired and, most importantly, performed and practiced by the Maintenance Technician.

 

Job Purpose Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible to ensure safe, quality operations of the Athens plant. The Maintenance Technician works effectively with other members in a self-managed, high performance team environment. The Maintenance Technician has core responsibility in plant maintenance (mechanical and/or electrical instrument), however it is expected that the Maintenance Technician expands his/her role in other relevant areas in the plant/site, i.e. process control, operations, information system etc.

The Maintenance Technician is also expected to take active role in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), process safety, as well as training, team development helping other technicians to ensure they are successful and business result is achieved.

 

Description:  

The job includes skill in equipment or instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, and developing preventive maintenance program. 

Mechanical skill examples are machine rigging, alignment, and installation troubleshoots and repair lab equipment, molders, lift trucks, plumbing and pipe fitting and annual equipment rebuild, etc. 

Instrument electrical skill examples are instrumentation/ electrical installation, troubleshooting of power transformer, panel, sensors, and transmitters, etc. 

Perform computer functions in plant, office, lab equipment. Create, follow procedures, work instructions, EH&S and Quality standards. Perform maintenance for equipment.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licensures and Certifications): 

  • Associate Degree is preferred
  • High School degree with minimum 5 years' experience in industrial environment is acceptable
  • Additional industrial certifications (i.e. welding, electrical, trade) is an advantage. 

Working Conditions: Works in facility that is a 24/7 continuous operations with rotating shift schedule. Rotational weekend on call schedule, for maintenance personnel required.
