JOB TITLE: Director, Application Engineering (North America)

The Director of Application Engineering (D-FAE) reports to the VP of Product Management and manages the Field Application Engineering team who are a direct technical interface to customer organizations and responsible to train and aid customer engineers in the implementation of UVC LED. The D-FAE will also identify, in conjunction with Product Management, and support the development of promising areas of research or technology that address unmet customer needs and have large potential markets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate very strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product development.
  • Develop and mentor regional Field Application Engineers
  • Innovates and integrates new processes and/or technology to significantly add value
  • Manage technical relationship with strategic business partners
  • Drive customer back innovation initiatives, in coordination with Product Management
  • Quickly define and deliver working product and solution prototypes
  • Own, develop and expand Klaran University
  • Define key performance metrics and monitor performance to exceed KPI targets
  • Track and analyze competitor products
  • Plan and manage budgets related to scope of team


Required Skills/Experience

  • MS in Electrical, Electronics or Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline. PhD a plus.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an Applications or Product Development related role
  • Influence decision making through active partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% of the time
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
