Job Purpose Summary:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting efforts to improve the safety and operations of the production facility in Michigan and Alabama. The Project Engineer will work closely with leadership as well as with cross functional teams to ensure the plant runs safely, efficiently and produces the highest quality material possible. The Project Engineer will also support numerous capital improvement projects from inception to implementation aimed at improving the process safety and efficiency of the production facility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Project Management for capital projects and Continous Improvements.
    • Execute Capex plans to schedule and budgets
    • Review project charters, stakeholder lists and deliverables
    • Evaluate major scope changes in projects
    • Determine project priorities, resource allocation, budget changes, substitutions
  • Develop Capex priority for next year
  • Review delivery of projects, determine project closure
    • Manage resource requirementsand contracted vendors
    • Manage Closure
    • Check deliverables, audit closure
  • Coordinate synergy between sites, projects and continuous improvement efforts

 

Key Success Measures (Metrics):

  • Successful completion of capital projects: on time and on budget

 

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licensures and Certifications):

  • 5 10 yrs experience as Process/Production Engineer in Manufacturing facility, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical)
  • Computer skills; statistical analysis
