Position Summary: Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, a global bioprocess product supplier, is seeking a highly ambitious and self-motivated Quality Assurance Specialist. The ideal candidate in this role will support the maintenance and continual improvement of AKBA's Quality Management System (QMS). The qualified candidate will be primarily responsible for administering QMS software, quality records and controlled documents. Additionally, the Quality Assurance Specialist will provide QA support of the Planova Division and will interface directly with Japan on a weekly basis.


  • Maintain the company's QMS software (Verse) by processing quality documents and quality records, etc., as well as identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
  • Administer QMS controlled documents and records; editing for content, format, grammar and spelling, along with facilitating changes to SOPs, policies, training materials and other documents.
  • Routinely follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time corrective action response and requalification/approval.
  • Support Planova Division by communicating change notifications to customers upon request, and maintaining an updated distribution list; acting as a liaison between AKBA and Japan parent company, ensuring effective communication and understanding of business needs; facilitating completion of customer questionnaires and maintaining records of customer complaints.


  • Education: Minimum of BS/BA
  • Intermediate Japanese language proficiency (read, write, speak) required 
  • JLPT N3 or higher
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

  • Ability to travel as required by territory geography and company requirements.
