Supply Chain Leader




Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Leader will be responsible for managing the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinators; projects, programs and initiatives aligned with operational goals to reduce the overall costs to serve customers. The person in this role will be expected to manage/coordinate projects, coordinate objective teams and interact cross departmentally to make improvements in operational efficiency. Incumbent will be expected to negotiate with suppliers and service providers to improve our overall Raw Material, MRO, Services, Freight and logistics costs and efficiencies to improve key performance indicators.



The Supply Chain Leader will have the responsibility to benchmark suppliers and logistics services to ensure that APNA is able to provide a product that is a competitive advantage for both us and the customer. The successful candidate will be expected to routinely interface with suppliers, customers, logistics service providers, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal departments to optimize our processes. Individual will also be expected to review data, and help facilitate decision making to improve our work process and overall costs to serve.


Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and measure Department staff.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key logistics and supply chain partners.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate purchasing and logistics with business systems or processes.
  • Manage the negotiation of contracts with suppliers, warehouses and logistics providers to obtain the best price, rates and service.
  • Oversee all modes of inbound and outbound transit including Bulk, Rail, Dry Van, Air, and Ocean freight.
  • Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
  • Manage variety of projects in support of overall company goals.
  • Knowledgeable on international customs policies and regulations and prepare internal parties for customs audit readiness.
  • Work with duty drawback partners to ensure a compliant and accurate drawback. Stay informed of new policies that may impact our business and/or drawback.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed raw material, MRO and service changes
  • Seeks continuous improvement through periodic assessments.   


  • A Bachelor's degree in the field of supply chain
  • A Masters of Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years relatable work experience. Management experience and Supply Chain experience.
  • Fluent Microsoft office skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • ERP experience is desirable.
  • Experience in project management, six sigma green belt training is highly desired.
