Position Overview:

As a Testing and Validation Technician you will be part of the Engineering and Operations group working very closely with our Project Engineers, Automation Specialists, Field Service Engineers and our Quality Assurance Department. In this role you will ensure the quality of outgoing products through software and hardware testing while also addressing quality concerns from end users. The position will also be responsible for the design, development, and execution of thorough test protocols to debug, commission, and validate newly developed automated systems and ensure intended functionality of mechanical systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Approximately 60% of your time will be spent testing new control systems; 20% will be utilized providing remote technical support; while the remainder of your time will be comprised of providing on-site emergency support in addition to various automated software testing activities
  • Identifies test mechanisms (both manual and automated) for custom designed software solutions
  • Prepares test protocols for debugging, commissioning, and validation of the end product
  • Provides first-line technical support to current customers, gathering information through investigation, offering troubleshooting advice, and performing root cause analysis
  • Executes technical support and emergency service visits to global customer base
  • Performs thorough testing of all products before handling off to the Project Engineer for Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Prepares and maintains associated test documentation
  • Provides technical training to customers and employees, as required 

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or university in a technical or scientific field related to the specific needs of the position
  • Previous experience with software testing and/or hardware commissioning required
  • Familiarity with validation requirements in a regulated industry such as biopharmaceuticals, food & beverage as well as experience in a quality function is a plus
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills a must
  • Ability to draft and execute test protocols
